College Visits 101:

When entering your college process… start by visiting local options to experience various sizes, fit, feel, cost, location, and program offerings. During a day off, I called several local colleges I had not recently visited and set out to see what was in my backyard. By visiting any school, I start by walking its campus, joining a tour (if available), checking out the information session, meeting with admissions counselors, and grabbing brochures. Despite students being on winter break, it was helpful to discover what a campus of 3,000, 4,000, and 5,000 students felt like. Check out our TikTok channel for more tour advice!

We traversed student centers, academic buildings, admissions offices, and even the bookstore; there, we encountered student work, checked out bulletin boards for campus happenings, and also saw where the fun happens. When walking through the initial process of discovering what you need out of your college investment, it is really important to start with what is in your backyard to examine their breadth of opportunities. I’d say these visits made for a fun and successful afternoon even if it was a tad snowy! Where do you plan to start visiting near you?

Fairfield University

Fast Facts about Fairfield University: With 4,603 undergraduates and a four-year graduation rate of 82%, students are well supported at this Jesuit University. By visiting, engaging in an information session, taking a campus tour, meeting with an admission rep that supports how you learn about the university but will also be a show of demonstrating your interest to them as well. Fairfield’s top three majors include nursing, finance, and marketing. Students love the beautiful campus, its proximity to water overlooking the Long Island Sound, friendly professors, and a strong sense of community. It is common for the children of parents and grandparents to attend Fairfield making up 15% of the class.

Sacred Heart University

Students love getting right into the core classes related to their major in a hand-on real-world space. Johnson & Wales has a strong focus on career readiness, diverse program offerings, industry connections, study abroad, campus life, and support services for students who learn differently. Brown University

Fast Facts about Brown University: Brown is home to 7,000+ undergraduates, 85%students are able to graduate within four years, demonstrated interest is not considered, and their top three majors include economics, biological sciences, and computer science. Brown boasts an open curriculum, which allows students to explore any courses they desire. This openness allows students to explore coursework in any manner they wish (as long as it is approved by an advisor) and extend their experience into one of more than 300 student run groups. Brown is known for its diverse student body, research opportunities, engaged faculty and small class sizes, its campus is stunning, and students are actively involved. If you are looking for a highly selective, intellectually rigorous school where you can build your curriculum into anything you wish, consider applying to Brown.

RISD

The best funded majors also include architecture and apparel design. Perfectly tucked into the hill as you approach Brown’s campus, RISD boasts galleries and creative spaces across its campus. Known for launching an incredible roster of artists, interior designers, architects, and thought leaders, RISD is a place to explore the intersection of intellectual inquiry and the visual world. Students are able to enroll in classes at Brown for credit in addition to utilizing the unlimited creative resources on campus. Many students can be found working into the wee hours to complete projects by deadlines, however with hard work comes a very high placement rate to get into the industry and company they desire upon graduation.

Coast Guard Academy

Fast Facts about The United States Coast Guard Academy: it has 1,049 undergraduates, a four-year graduation rate of 91%, they consider demonstrated interest, and its top three majors include business administration and management, American government and politics, and computational and applied mathematics.
To enter this secure military base and college you must present your legal identification and share a reason for your visit, once on campus you will see sprawling parade grounds. This campus is tucked on the hillside just above the sound and boasts state of the art facilities. Becoming a “Coastie” is a rigorous process that requires a nomination from a senator or representative, followed by an extensive application process. To plan for an academy application, candidates must begin to work towards their application a year in advance. The opportunities The Coast Guard offers its cadets includes travel anywhere in the world and incredible technical skills.

Connecticut College

This campus is just up the street from USCGA, but is worlds different. Conn College is surrounded by a beautiful arboretum and boasts re-wilding efforts at every turn. This liberal arts school features a close-knit community and treasures its honor code as a central component of student integrity. Class sizes are small, majors are rigorous, faculty is available to students, and Conn College is home to a kind thoughtful student body who aims to do good in the world.

Mitchell College

Quinnipiac University

Fast Facts about Quinnipiac University: QU is home to 6,073 undergraduates, demonstrated interest is very important, and its top five majors include management, film, TV, and media arts, nursing, journalism, and psychology. Quinnipiac is just north of New Haven, Connecticut in Hamden and boasts wonderful living-learning communities dotted across their Mount Carmel and York Hill campuses. Political watchers may recognize the school for the polls they run during election cycles, but there is so much more. Quinnipiac believes in having a strong liberal arts core before choosing a major so all students become subjective thinkers. Quinnipiac is also one of the fastest growing universities in the US having grown 300% over the past 35 years.

American College of the Building Arts

Fast Facts about The American College of the Building Arts: it has around 100 students enrolled in its Bachelor of Applied Sciences in the Building Arts degree program that features six craft specializations in Architectural Carpentry, Blacksmithing, Classical Architecture & Design, Architectural Stone Carving, and Timber Framing.
ACBA is the only four-year program that integrates a traditional college degree with apprenticeship style learning. Modeled on the French Les Compagnons ten-year apprenticeship program, ACBA condensed the program into a four-year American curriculum. They celebrate educational methods rooted in a medieval guild system, to train craftspeople to master a trade and teach it too.

The Citadel

Fast Facts about The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina: it has approximately 2,300 undergraduates who are members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets and some of their top majors include business administration, criminal justice, and mechanical engineering.
Although students (cadets) are not required to join a branch of the military upon graduation, one-third choose to become commissioned. The Citadel experience features Four Pillars: character, academics, military, and fitness. This transformative experience is uniquely designed to build leadership skills to help students become prepared to serve in all walks of life.

College of Charleston

Fast Facts about The College of Charleston: it has almost 10,000 undergraduates, considers demonstrated interest, and its top three majors include communications, business administration and management, and psychology.
In the heart of Charleston just a block off of the bustling downtown core of King Street, CofC draws students from across the country and the world…it doesn’t hurt that Charleston repeatedly is voted as one of the best places to live year after year. Students in their hospitality program gain firsthand experience in one of America’s best food and beverage towns and their historic preservation students can gain valuable work experience.
With another year of record applications, CofC is growing more selective in its admissions process.

Ithaca College

Fast Facts About Ithaca College: it has 4,600 undergraduates, demonstrated interest is very important, and its top three majors include integrated marketing communications, business administration, and physical therapy.
Located in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, Ithaca College enjoys a stunning natural setting overlooking Cayuga Lake and is surrounded by picturesque gorges and waterfalls. Ithaca College's highly regarded Park School of Communications provides students with hands-on experiences in media, journalism, film, television, and more. Ithaca College encourages artistic expression through its vibrant arts scene, which includes dance performances, gallery exhibitions, and concerts featuring students, faculty, and guest artists. Brandeis University

Middlebury College

Fast Facts about Middlebury College: Middlebury College is located in the gorgeous Green Mountains of Vermont and has an undergraduate enrollment of 2800. Best known for their extensive world language and environmental studies programs, Middlebury boasts an impressive 91% graduation rate.
Over the past decades, Middlebury has made significant strides in sustainability, aiming to be completely carbon neutral by 2028. It was the first U.S. college to install a biomass gasification plant, to reduce its carbon footprint. Middlebury strongly encourages and supports summer internship experiences for students, providing a million dollars each year in summer internship funding! One fun tradition at Middlebury is its optional February enrollment program, which allows incoming students to have a gap semester to work, volunteer, or explore the world prior to starting their college journeys. Each year, students who graduate in December process by skiing down the nearby Snow Bowl in their caps and gowns! Middlebury considers demonstrated interest.

University of Vermont

Fast Facts about University of Vermont: Nestled between the Adirondack Mountains, the shores of Lake Champlain, and the foothills of the Green Mountains, University of Vermont’s campus provides students with stunning views and abundant outdoor recreational opportunities. UVM has an undergraduate enrollment of 11,000 and its top three majors are business administration, environmental studies, and nursing. UVM is often referred to as the "Green University" due to its dedication to environmental sustainability and was one of the first universities in the nation to create an environmental studies program.The university is known for its strong emphasis on experiential and engaged learning. Saint Joseph’s University

Fast Facts about Saint Joseph’s University: Located on the western side of Philadelphia on the edge of the Main Line, SJU has 4200 undergraduates (and growing), values demonstrated interest, and has stellar programs in business, marketing, management, biological sciences, communication, and health professions, amongst many others.
Saint Joseph’s purchased the University of the Sciences in 2022 and recently acquired the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences which has allowed them to expand their offerings in all aspects of healthcare where they hope to launch a nursing program which will launch in Fall 2024. SJU is investing millions into its campus-wide master plan that connects all aspects of the campus corridor including upgrades to its dining, living, and recreation facilities, not to mention state-of-the-art laboratories.
It is also important to mention Hawk Hill and the tight-knit community that is SJU where the student body is bound by its love of basketball and cheering on their beloved Hawks at Hagan Arena.

Haverford College

Fast Facts about Haverford College: Located in the suburbs west of Philadelphia, Haverford College is a college surrounded by an arboretum. Comprised of 216 acres, Haverford College is encircled by a walking trail where nature lovers can take a moment away from their studies to contemplate or just blow off some steam while surrounded by incredible trees and landscapes. Enjoyed by students, faculty, and the public, this is one of Haverford College’s special treasures for all to enjoy.
With only 1300 students, Haverford offers its students a personalized approach to their experience. This is an incredibly close-knit community that holds its honor code central to its academic mission. Top majors include psychology, chemistry, political science, economics, and biology where all seniors must complete a thesis to graduate. What is special is that Haverford and Bryn Mawr College can take coursework at each school, use facilities on both campuses, eat, and even live in one another’s dorms. Popular activities include joining a sports team, volunteering, clubs, and enjoying on-campus events.

Bryn Mawr College

Fast Facts about Bryn Mawr College: Located in the suburbs west of Philadelphia, Bryn Mawr College is home to 1780 female and female-identifying students. With 1700 students, Bryn Mawr helps each student explore the four approaches to inquiry - scientific investigation, critical interpretation, cross-cultural analysis, and inquiry into the past, including two semesters of foreign language. This school does not consider demonstrated interest, however.
If you watched The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, you would know that spunky Midge was a Bryn Mawr girl. As one of the seven sisters (Barnard, Mount Holyoke, Smith, and Wellesley…Vassar is now coed and Radcliffe who was absorbed by Harvard), it is known for incredible coursework in English language and literature, biology, psychology, mathematics, and computer science.
Bryn Mawr is also a place of traditions - Parade Night, Lantern Night, Welcome the First Years Week, and May Day. Bryn Mawr offers shared coursework, newspaper, and radio station with Haverford College just a few miles away. If you want a place to think deeply, engage in incredible conversations, build close-knit relationships with your professors, and are interested in a single-gender education, Bryn Mawr College should be on your list.

Rosemont College

Fast Facts About Rosemont College: Located in the suburbs west of Philadelphia, Rosemont College offers incredible programs in psychology, visual arts, biology, and business. This tight knit campus community is focused on building relationships and student achievement and home to 580 undergraduates who hail from diverse backgrounds - 42% African American, 7% Hispanic, 4% multiracial, and 36% white, 33% are first generation, and 58% receive Pell grants. Students are required to take two theology courses as it is a Catholic institution, but that can include World Religions and Sports and Spirituality making this religious institution inclusive of all approaches to faith. Rosemont considers demonstrated interest, so go visit and take a tour! Their motto is the Power of Small and Rosemont College does a tremendous job in supporting all of its students and encouraging them to pursue their academic and professional goals. @rosemontcollege

Villanova University

Fast Facts about Villanova University: Located in the suburbs west of Philadelphia, Villanova University is home to 7,000 undergraduates on their sprawling 260 acre campus. Top programs include engineering, nursing, finance, biology, communication, and psychology. Villanova University is highly regarded for its academic excellence, offering a wide range of programs and fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity. Harcum College

Fast Facts about Harcum College: Located west of Philadelphia, Harcum College is home to approximately 1,000 students. Their associates programs prepare students for careers in dental hygiene, radiologic technology, veterinary nursing technology, allied health, nursing, and more. Harcum is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and has incredible soccer, basketball, track and field teams. Students looking to enter the workforce with transferable skills can graduate their programs in two years. Although students can also opt to live on campus, most commute. Known as the college of community, Harcum College is a terrific choice for those looking for small class sizes and personalized attention from faculty and staff. @harcumcollege

UMBC

Fast Facts about the University of Maryland Baltimore County: UMBC is located ten minutes from the inner harbor of Baltimore. Best known for its undergraduate research opportunities in psychology, biological sciences, computer science, and engineering, this is far more than just a STEM school…. it is a place of belonging and connection.

UMBC is a beautiful state-of-the-art medium-sized university (10,000) in the Maryland system but has an identity all its own. Their mascot - The Retrievers - have a winning record in mock trial, chess, and upset UVA in the March Madness tournament just a few years ago. With its robust offerings of clubs, ever expanding on-campus living options, this once commuter school is a home base for students from near and far. Over 50% of its undergraduate population identifies as culturally diverse and embracing inclusive excellence is in its DNA. @umbclife

York University

Fast Facts about York University (Ontario, Canada): York is located 40 minutes northwest from downtown Toronto and is a campus of 55,000. In fact, York has three campuses in total: Keele (52,000 largest population with loads of residential options), Glendon (3,000 students, which runs all of its courses in French immersion), and Markham (which will enroll their first class in 2024).

The business program at York is incredible and offers students the option to engage in internships and co-ops. Top programs include accounting and finance, anthropology, business management studies, communication media studies, law and legal studies, and politics. York is home to a top ranked soccer team, and has both men’s and women’s ice hockey, and Canadian football.

To apply, students can either use the York University application or the Ontario Universities Application Center (OUAC). What is tremendous about York is that it utilizes the FAFSA and has loads of scholarship opportunities for domestic and international students, which could bring the costs for an American student in line with an in-state tuition or lower. University of Toronto

Fast Facts about the University of Toronto (Ontario, Canada): The University of Toronto’s downtown campus (St. George) is located in the heart of Toronto adjacent to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. The downtown campus highlights gothic architecture and modern structures and is home to tremendous programs in psychology, materials science, human biology, statistical sciences, immunology, actuarial science, sociology, and management. With 62,000 undergraduates, UofT is one of the largest universities in the world. Not that rankings matter, but the respect for this university places it in a top position globally and number one in Canada. The University has two other campuses in Mississauga and Scarborough.

Students who aim to apply to the University of Toronto should maintain excellent grades, consider the prerequisites needed for each program, and connect with admissions counselors who travel to your region. Students who are interested can always register for a virtual information session to learn more. To apply, students can use the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) and check out the University of Toronto website for more information about their over 700 undergraduate programs.

Toronto Metropolitan University

Fast Facts about Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University): Toronto Metropolitan University is located in the Garden District of downtown Toronto and is home to 44,400 full and part time students. What makes it different is its fabulous hands-on programming where the majority of students engage in co-ops and internships. Randolph Macon College

Fast Facts about Randolph Macon College: Randolph Macon is a private college located in Ashland, Virginia. Easy to reach on the Northeast Regional Amtrak line, this campus is home to 1,400 undergraduates. With beautiful campus quads, state-of-the-art athletic facilities, and brand new dorms, this Division III school offers students many opportunities to get involved and show their yellow jacket spirit. This is one of the few schools at which equestrian programs are offered at the collegiate level. Virginia Commonwealth University

East Carolina University

Fast Facts about East Carolina University: ECU is a public institution with 21,000 undergraduates located in Greenville, NC. This is a fabulous option for students looking for colleges with school spirit, football culture, and an excellent academic experience. With 14 Division I teams, the ECU Pirates are the glue that brings this campus community together. The first time I visited ECU was in 1994 and it is astounding how much Greenville and ECU have grown. Today it boasts medical and veterinary schools; PA, Social Work, and MBA programs; and incredible undergraduate degrees in nursing, management, biology, marketing, psychology, communication, and construction management. With over 375 clubs and organizations there is something for everyone to find their friends and get involved. This school is likely a sleeper for someone outside of the state of North Carolina, but this one is a must-add if you are looking for a close-knit community where students are incredibly involved and dedicated to getting the most out of their experience.

University of North Carolina - Wilmington

Fast Facts about the University of North Carolina - Wilmington: UNCW is a public institution with 14,000 undergraduates located in Wilmington, NC. With a defined sprawling campus filled with green spaces, ponds, and beautiful landscapes, the campus is highlighted by classic brick buildings and possesses multiple features of a school double or triple its size. Offering 18 Division I sports teams, 250 clubs and organizations, and more than 1,000 study abroad opportunities, UNCW abounds with opportunities. Students can choose programs in one of five colleges: Business, Health & Human Services, Humanities, Social Sciences & the Arts, Science & Engineering, and Education. Coastal Carolina University

Fast Facts about Coastal Carolina University: Coastal Carolina is a public university in Conway, South Carolina, and is home to over 10,000 students. A lot is going on at Coastal; during our visit, there was a free community jazz concert, a lively spring carnival, and a D I baseball game at their amazing packed stadium. UCLA

Fast Facts about UCLA: UCLA is a public state university located in Los Angeles, California. The campus is nestled in the foothills with Sunset to its north and Westwood to its south.
Home to 33,000 undergraduates and over 5,000 courses, students are able to pursue a wide range of majors including psychology, mathematics, integrative biology and physiology, economics, neuroscience, ecology and evolutionary biology, chemistry and biochemistry, society and genetics, film and television, and anthropology. Students taking a rigorous courseload who earn a stellar GPA, authentically write the UC Personal Insight Questions (also known as the PIQs), and have diverse interests are considered to be terrific candidates for this picturesque campus. These walking videos were taken by one of our students who is enrolled this summer in two film classes and has had a fabulous experience living and learning from UCLA professors. When visiting campus in 2022, I felt the incredible awe for its stunning architecture and indelible Bruin vibe. Fast Facts about Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD): SCAD is a private college of over 12,000 undergraduates where its main campus is located in Savannah, Georgia, and has campuses in Atlanta and Lacoste, France. Savannah is home to over 40 programs spanning 70+ buildings dotting the city. University of South Carolina Bluffton, Beaufort, and Hilton Head

Fast Facts about the University of South Carolina Beaufort: USCB is one university with three campuses located in Bluffton, Beaufort, and Hilton Head. These downstate campuses offer students a wide variety of majors and experiences. Bluffton is home to 50 programs including nursing, business administration, and psychology. With 2,000 students and over half living on campus, the campus is vibrant with D2 sports (baseball, basketball, XC, golf, soccer, and track & field to name a few). The Beaufort campus is home to marine biology, history, visual art, African American studies, and cybersecurity. This small living-learning community offers housing in the bucolic town of Beaufort and an incredibly tight-knit community aimed at supporting all of its students. The Hilton Head campus is home to the Hospitality, Resort, and Tourism Management degree program. Students study and work in this incredible resort town where they can build successful careers in event management, resort operations, hotel operations, ecotourism, country club management, and other tourism sectors.

Wake Forest University

Fast Facts about Wake Forest University: Wake is highly selective, home to approximately 5500 undergraduates, considers demonstrated interest, offers interviews, and they are one of the few schools that considers early decision on a rolling basis. In other words, if you apply in September you will have a decision in October. For some, this means that with an acceptance they are finished with their process. However, be forewarned, most high schools, do not release transcripts, letters of recommendation, or other information until at least 10 days into the school year. Please don’t take this rolling ED as an opportunity to bug your amazing school counselors, instead have all of your ducks in a row and then file the proper forms to be released at the start of the year.

With this said, Wake Forest is home to some of my favorite college traditions like rolling the quad - when something good happens they tp the center of campus and Lovefeast which is the largest Moravian-style gathering in North America. There are many more wonderful traditions to consider, but take a look at Wake if you are interested in pursuing business (finance, economics), political science, psychology, or the biological sciences.

University of Delaware

Fast Facts about the University of Delaware: Delaware is home to approximately 18,000 undergraduates, considers demonstrated interest, is an R1 research institution, is home to eight undergraduate colleges (Agriculture and Natural Resources, Arts and SCiecnes, Lerner College of Business and Economics, Earth, Ocean and Environment, Education and Human Development, Engineering, Health Sciences, and the Biden School of Public Policy and Administration). During the tour, guides share that they are a proud cow-to-cone campus where students can enjoy the benefits of a 350-acre working farm and the latest ice cream flavors featured at two UDairy locations. Students in the hospitality industry management program help run the on-campus Courtyard Marriott and work in Vita Nova the student-run on-campus fine dining restaurant.

Across from Division 1 sports facilities is the STAR campus a mixed-use space home to health research, the data innovation lab, apartments, and retail to create an all-in-one living/learning community. Students who apply to the summer scholars program can receive a stipend of $4000 to cover their living expenses while they conduct full-time research on campus. Top majors at UDel include Finance, Psychology, Management, Biological sciences, Speech Communication, Nursing, Mechanical Engineering, and much more. For those who want to engage with a tight-knit, spirited community where connections with teachers and student success are central to the student experience - the University of Delaware deserves a spot on your list!

University of Richmond

Fast Facts about the University of Richmond: Richmond is home to approximately 3200 undergraduates, its top majors include business administration, leadership studies, and biology. This sprawling campus just ten minutes from downtown Richmond is chock full of opportunities. While walking across campus, you can see how students can balance rigorous academics with getting out in nature and moving their bodies. Over 45% of students are admitted to the University of Richmond in the Early Decision round, 20% in Early Action, 27% in Regular Decision, and 8% were pulled off of the weight list last year. The average SAT score was a 1500 and ACT was a 34. Over 90% of students live on campus for all four years creating a sense of home and cohesion. There is an average of 16 students per class and a student-faculty ratio of 8:1. Richmond is Need Blind in admissions which means they will not know if you will be applying for financial aid so admissions decides on your admissibility, not on financial need. Penn State

Fast Facts about Penn State University: The main campus of Penn State is located in University Park, Pennsylvania AKA Happy Valley. Home to 48,000 undergraduate students, home to over 14 colleges including the highly selective programs within the Smeal College of Business, Schreyer Honors College, Eberly College of Science, Nese College of Nursing, and Bellisario College of Communications. Top majors include business, engineering, computer and information sciences, communications and journalism, psychology, biology, and social sciences. With the largest and most involved alumni network in the world, Penn State takes care of generations of its graduates through its closeknit connections. Students can find a multitude of ways to involve themselves in campus life from over 1,000 student clubs to recreational activities, to raising money for THON – the largest student-run non-profit in the US that benefits research for childhood cancer, or cheering for Penn State during one of its infamous whiteouts. Fordham University

Fast Facts about Fordham University: Fordham is a Jesuit University that is home to 11,000 undergraduates spread across three campuses Rose Hill in the Bronx (main/original campus), Lincoln Center (law school, Gabelli Business School, and Fordham College), and Westchester in West Harrison, NY (home to 200 undergraduates and graduate students). Fordham also has a campus in London where students in the business school and within the liberal arts (Art History, Communications, Economics, English literature, Film & TV, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Theater, and Theology) have many choices to intern, travel, and explore their curriculum abroad. Fordham boasts a defined, close-knit, state-of-the-art campus in the Bronx. Fast Facts About Thomas Jefferson University: TJU is home to 3,000 undergraduate students at its East Falls Campus, considers demonstrated interest, and mandates housing for two years for any student who lives more than 15 miles from the university. Its campus just north of Kelly Drive in Philadelphia offers students incredible access to the city center, its world class teaching hospital, and abounding lab and work spaces. TJU purchased Philadelphia University in 2017 which had previously been name the Philadelphia Textile School prior to 1999 making it one of the most unique skill focused universities that exists. Fast Facts About LaSalle University: LaSalle is home to 4,000 undergraduate students at its North Philadelphia campus. Stony Brook University

Fast Facts About Stony Brook University: Stony Brook is located on Long Island and home to over 17,000 undergraduates, it is a public university that considers demonstrated interest, is an R1 research school due to is high research activity and it is one of ten universities to combine research with an undergraduate education. University of St. Andrew’s (Scotland)

Fast Facts About the University of St. Andrews: St. Andrew’s is located in St Andrews Scotland just an hour north of Edinburgh on the North Sea. This university is home to over 8,000 undergraduates who have a choice of over 150 majors (courses) in the humanities (English, history, and art history), Social Sciences (international relations, politics, and psychology), Natural Sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, computer science) and Business (economics and management). Founded in 1413 it is Scotland’s oldest university, 40% of students come from outside the UK, and there are over 150 clubs and societies to join. A highly competitive university and among the top four leading universities in the UK. St. Andrews is home to very fun traditions including academic families, raisin Monday foam fight, May dip into the North Sea - which is the only cure to Patrick Hamilton’s curse. University of Edinburgh (Scotland)

Fast Facts about the University of Edinburgh: Edinburgh is located in the vibrant city of Edinburgh, Scotland. The university is home to over 25000 undergraduate students who have a choice of over 400 majors (courses) in cell biology, engineering, artificial intelligence, agricultural sciences, and so much more. Not only is the University an incredible resource to students with 300 clubs and societies, countless student-run events, and wonderful nightlife, but there are plenty of student-organized and run events through the Erasmus Student Network. When part of the university, students can engage in reduced and free tickets to museums, galleries, theaters, enjoy outdoor activities, and a whole host of festivals hosted throughout the year in Edinburgh. Years ago I had the opportunity to attend the Fringe festival which is an incredible celebration of arts and culture that spans three weeks in August including comedy acts, musical performances, and theater troupes. At 410 years old the university is home to some incredible architecture adjacent to modern research buildings. University of Pennsylvania

Known as an R1 research institution, Penn offers students incredible opportunities to conduct hands-on research.
