College Counseling

Establish your postsecondary flight path

From the first time students say the word college to the day they deposit, College Flight Path is perfectly poised to help families. After assessing a student's GPA, course rigor, course selection, extracurricular activities, and future career goals, we establish a list tailored to students’ goals.

Who is College Planning for?

✓ 9th and 10th Grade students embarking on the process of compiling a list of potential colleges and universities.

✓ 11th Grade students looking to expand their search, research specific programs, identify open houses, overnight stays, and interviews.

✓ 12th Grade students requesting help with college applications, admissions essays, and last minute search advice.

Assess

Student’s academic history, extracurricular activities, wants and needs for their postsecondary plan.

Plan

Define a list of colleges and universities suited to the academic goals of the student, determine visit schedules, and use CFP templates to help organize data.

Execute

Support student’s essay writing process through individualized sessions, organize applications by deadline and type, and help students develop their executive functioning skills to meet deadlines.

“Lynne is a fantastic resource for both parents and students.  She's knowledgeable, reassuring, and upbeat.  And, she's able to draw information from even the most reluctant participants, and keep even the most disorganized students on track.  We are so grateful that we had Lynne guiding us through the college application process.”

- Germantown Friends Class of 2023

Timeline

Students can enter into the planning process anytime between 9th grade and 11th grade which includes setting score goals, visiting universities, and gaining knowledge of admission requirements. We then establish a testing plan and use the resulting data to help leverage our list creation. Thereafter we work together to plan trips to visit schools and how to brainstorm the personal statement, supplements, and activities by the conclusion of junior year. During the summer between 11th and 12th grade we tackle as much of the application as possible in preparation for submission in fall.
